In the lead up to next year’s federal election, real estate professionals are being invited to have their say on the issues that matter to them.
REB acknowledges that federal politics has the ability to rapidly and significantly impact the course and trajectory of industries; this is particularly true for those in the real estate and property sectors.
The ongoing parliamentary inquiry into housing affordability, continuing debates around stamp duty, and the advent of home buying initiatives such as HomeBuilder and the FHLDS scheme are just a few examples of how government intervention (or lack thereof) can influence the sector.
Even Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has predicted that property taxes will draw “another battle line between us and the Labor party”.
Michael Johnson, the head of strategy at Momentum Intelligence, has predicted this election “will be a close affair”.
Therefore, he said, “it’s critical that industry is able to voice its concerns ahead of time so politicians can understand how best they can create policies that will benefit industry”.
He explained: “The survey results will be used as a voice of the real estate industry and will help amplify the thoughts and opinions of agents and property managers ahead of the election.”
“We think it’s incredibly important to give a voice to people so that they’re heard in Canberra.”
The poll has 10 questions and will take no longer than five minutes to complete. In return for participants’ time, Momentum Intelligence is offering a $500 gift voucher to one randomly selected participant who provides their details to enter the optional prize draw.
