The penultimate auction weekend of the year brought some big results for Sydney’s Richard Matthews Real Estate.
The agency, which has offices in Strathfield and Summer Hill, reported transacting over $40 million worth of properties in the home stretch leading up to the holiday break.
It was a week that saw a whopping 4,970 homes go under the hammer, according to CoreLogic, eclipsing the all-time high record set the week ending 28 November 2021, when 4,153 homes hit the block.
Selling homes across Sydney’s inner west and south-west, Richard Matthews’ sales ranged from between $470,000 through to $7.8 million.
Not all of them sold under the hammer, however. The Strathfield property at 11 Francis Street, that topped the $7 million mark sold prior to auction for a street record.
Similarly, a nearby home at 8 Newton Road, Strathfield sold prior to auction after just 12 days on the market, achieving $4.34 million for the sellers.
Director Richard Baini put the recent success down to his team’s ability to weather the highs and lows of an unpredictable market.
“With the market having seen a noticeable shift, these results are more a reflection of the dedicated work of our team as opposed to market conditions simply favouring the listing agent,” Mr Baini said.
Director Matthew Everingham agreed that everyone at the agency deserved credit for the massive result.
“Our team is dedicated and driven, these results are a testament to their tireless work ethic. They will continue to be available through Christmas and into the New Year,” he said.
And it’s not over yet. The business has another 15 properties scheduled to go to auction across the coming weekend.
