The Real Estate Institute of the Northern Territory (REINT) has named its new chief executive.
Aswin De Silva will be taking on the role recently vacated by Quentin Kilian.
REINT president Diane Davis said Mr Silva’s appointment follows a national search.
“We are delighted to have secured someone of Aswin’s calibre for this critical industry leadership role,” she said.
Hailing from Sydney, the institute has illuminated Mr De Silva’s experience in membership organisations including American Express and NRMA.
With career experience garnered in Australia and internationally, the incoming CEO is recognised as a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Sri Lanka.
While announcing Mr De Silva’s appointment, Ms Davis also extended her gratitude to outgoing CEO Quentin Kilian for his service of over more than 12 years.
“On behalf of the REINT board, and sector more broadly, I thank Quentin Kilian for his tireless commitment to our members and skilful navigation of an often complex operating environment with a range of stakeholder interests,” the president said.
“Today, our organisation is on a firm financial footing, representing members across the territory, and Quentin has been instrumental in establishing this strong position for the institute.”
Offering his own regards, Mr Kilian said: “I have great confidence in Aswin’s capability in ensuring the voice of the real estate sector is heard at every level of government and that the sector continues to be recognised as a significant economic contributor to the territory’s economy.”
