The real estate network has nabbed a top member of McGrath’s management team in Victoria for its new general manager of sales in NSW and the ACT.
Luke Evans was most recently head of network performance and head auctioneer for the McGrath Victoria network, where he played an integral role in expanding the brand’s presence and came to manage 25 per cent of the network’s franchise revenue.
He also held the titles of state manager of NSW and state manager of Victoria within the network.
The move will reunite him with former McGrath chief executive Geoff Lucas, who was appointed CEO of The Agency Group in March last year before taking on the additional role of managing director.
Mr Lucas said he was pleased to be working with Mr Evans once again and felt the new role spoke to his strengths.
“Luke brings fresh energy and insight to the role as general manager of sales,” Mr Lucas said.
“He shares our vision of growth and expansion and I have no doubt that Luke will prove to be a significant drawcard in the recruitment of additional top performing agents and sales teams to our company.”
He added that Mr Evans had the “wisdom and experience of leaders beyond his years”.
Mr Evans said he was looking forward to growing The Agency business together with Matt Lahood, CEO of The Agency Real Estate, and Mr Lucas.
“Geoff is a great leader who gave me a lot of his time when I worked for him at McGrath, we worked very closely together. Matt Lahood is one of the most respected people in real estate in the country and I’m incredibly honoured and excited to work alongside him and learn from the best,” Mr Evans said.
Mr Lahood detailed that Mr Evans would play a key role working alongside him to coach and mentor the network’s team of agents.
“Luke’s credentials reflect his natural affinity for people and nurturing talent, as well as building and growing businesses,” Mr Lahood said.
He noted that Mr Evans had extensive experience in recognising the needs of agents as a network grows, both during his time at McGrath and in his previous role as Harcourts’ chief auctioneer.
“A high performing sales coach, Luke has built teams and expanded the footprint of franchises across the McGrath and Harcourts networks in NSW, Victoria and the ACT,” Mr Lahood said.
“Luke is a perfect fit in our culture of service excellence and will be a driving force in our business as we scale across NSW and ACT.”
Mr Evans, who is a registered sales agent in the ACT, will also list properties and call auctions for the network.
