After working under the franchise model throughout his 20-year career, this attraction agent made the decision to launch his own business, leveraging his reputation in the Manly area.

Marc Sorrentino has announced the launch of his own brand, Sorrentino Property, as he looks to break through the limitations he said he faced when he worked as a principal and owner under the traditional franchise model.

According to him, “there will be a lot of principals sitting in their offices at the moment, who aren’t happy with the support they are receiving from their franchise, and know that they could be doing things better.

Commenting on how traditional franchises operate, Mr Sorrentino said: “[Everything] is done the same way. All of the marketing looks the same and there isn’t the ability to do things differently.”

On that note, the decision to launch his own business was the natural progression for his career.

After growing his personal brand and reputation in the area while working under the franchise model, Mr Sorrentino observed that other agents were the ones receiving credit for his hard work and success.

“In recent months, I’ve spoken with a number of sellers who thought they had listed with my office, only to find out that they had listed with an agent from outside the area, from the same franchise, but from a different office,” he said.

He believes that having his own brand, which is powered by UrbanX, will allow clients to properly distinguish which listings are his, which, in turn, will give him proper credit for his work.

“Working under my own brand and the Sorrentino name, I know that no one else will be able to benefit from my hard work and I know that I will see 100 per cent of the results from all of my marketing,” he said.
