A move away from simply viewing an office space as a “task centre” is key to creating the real estate office of the future, according to this director.
Ray White Deer Park business owner Leigh Grixti is well aware that the future of the office has been in question in recent times.
But instead of doing away with an office altogether, he’s invested in a complete overhaul of the agency, with the aim of boosting its workplace culture and creating a “thriving energy hub”.
He explained: “The increasing value of the real estate workplace is to perform as ‘people centres’, not simply ‘task centres’.”
Drawing on the design direction and inspiration concept of light versus dark, the office now touts black and white to zone public and private space, with confidential meeting rooms and boardrooms doused in black to separate the spaces from the public reception area.
Thanks to the team at Icon Interiors, Ray White Deer Park is now touting a brand-new floorplan and layout, which not only centralises accessibility of the directors’ offices but still manages to achieve privacy and acoustic control requirements.
With neon designer lettering in the boardroom spelling out the directors’ methodology of “team work makes the dream work”, a breakout space containing a basketball ring aims to up the energy level, creating an environment that Icon Interiors’ Gavin Morley said “brings a splash of excitement” and creates “a high expectation and energy driven environment”.
According to Mr Morley, “the human need to be with one another is as fundamental as ever to long term wellbeing, talent renewal, and fortifying organisational culture and growth”.
It’s a belief with which Mr Grixti agrees, adding “culture and energy were crucial for me, and that is the space that has been delivered”.
He quipped that “everyone is talking” about the new office space, which serves to create both cultural identity for the team and an environment of staff enrichment.
