A new head of franchise growth for a brand’s Queensland team is focusing not only on meeting growth targets but also on getting the right people into the job.

Gary Hassett, who was most recently responsible for leading franchise growth at the Coronis Group, comes to the role with 20 years of experience in sales and management, both in the UK, where he began his career, and Australia, where he’s lived for the last decade.

Mr Hassett said he was motivated to join Stone’s operations after recognising the importance the team places on culture and finding the right fit for the brand.

“It was obvious from the beginning that it is a very progressive company. Having spoken at length with the senior executive team, the thing that struck me was the company is full of very good, down-to-earth people who are hungry to grow and get better,” Mr Hassett said.

As he tells it, this focus has helped make his priorities for the job clear.

“A big part of this role is about recruitment and getting the right people on board, people that are aligned with our values at Stone, so that’s going to be very important. It’s also about making sure our people are happy in their current jobs, and my past experience will help with all of these aspects,” he said.

Mr Hassett will be working alongside Chris Roy on franchise growth opportunities, with whom he’s eager to begin collaborating on achieving the company’s ambitious plans.

“I’m really excited for the opportunity to work alongside [Mr Roy] and I can’t wait to get underway. I’m keen to get things ramped up here in Queensland, I’m very grateful for the opportunity and hopefully you’ll see many more offices open in here over the coming months and years,” Mr Hassett said.
