A business expansion in Byron Bay has prompted the local behind it to simultaneously kick off a fundraising initiative in support of the surrounding community.
Braden Walters, principal of Belle Property Byron Bay and Lennox Head, is set to head up a new regional arm of Belle Property Escapes, focusing on premium holiday accommodation in the area he knows well.
Coinciding with the launch, the longstanding RFS volunteer is running an initiative to help out Northern Rivers locals impacted by the recent flooding.
The “donate a tub” campaign aims to help families that are in need of basic essentials such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, detergent, towels, toilet paper, crockery and so on. Each tub filled with these much-needed items will run about $100, with Mr Walters aiming to raise enough for 100 tubs.
Donations in any amount are being solicited via a GodFundMe page, with the team facilitating the purchase and delivery of their fundraising efforts.
The opening comes at a busy time for the principal, who says he has a number of clients that have been waiting for the new venture’s launch.
He believes the area is crying out for this type of service. “We see a gap in the local market for a high-quality, boutique holiday rental service, which Belle Property Escapes will meet via its premium offerings, quality marketing and customer care,” he said.
Belle Property Escapes chief executive Peter Hanscomb agreed that “Byron Bay is a hugely popular destination for lifestyle-oriented visitors”.
With the resumption of domestic and international travel, Mr Hanscomb said he expects to see increasing demand for premium holiday accommodation as the year progresses.
