The first agency in Tasmania to make use of UrbanX’s independent model has launched in Launceston.
Phillipa Jenkins has branched out on her own after 16 years in the industry, inaugurating Jenkins & Co Property Tasmania with the help of the platform.
Ms Jenkins said she was eager to apply her customer-centric approach to this new venture.
“I first got into the industry after selling my house while going through a divorce, so I understand that everyone has different reasons for selling. No two properties and no two people are the same, so I am motivated to be able to establish exactly what my clients want and deliver the best possible outcome for them,” she said.
And she noted that she was happy to have the change of pace in being her own boss.
“One of the benefits of working for myself is that I will be agile. I can make decisions quickly and if a vendor wants to change something throughout the process, I can do it quickly, without needing to seek approvals,” she said.
Another factor that motivated Ms Jenkins to establish her own business is that she hopes to build something she can pass down to her daughter, who is currently studying to enter the industry.
And she describes feeling well supported by UrbanX’s offering.
“The team knows everything that is happening in the industry, and I know that if there is any new technology available that would benefit me, they would be first to know about it. They will allow me to focus on listing and selling property, while supporting me to run my business; it is so refreshing,” she said.
