With Australia’s affordability woes worsening, the network is now providing Australians with the chance to take on a new type of “change” – owning their own slice of the moon.
LJ Hooker has today announced the launch of a brand-new development 384,400 kilometres away: “A Home Among the Stars”.
The homesites are set to become available from next year, coinciding with Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic and Jeff Bezos’ New Shepard regular commercial space flights to the moon.
LJ Hooker’s head of network performance Stephen Mutton sees the new development as “an ideal opportunity” for would-be buyers – especially a husband or wife “looking to put some distance between them and their in-laws”.
“The new release would also suit families looking for some extra space (excuse the pun),” he commented.
Buyers are also expected to get more bang for their buck when prices are released on 2 April 2022, with Mr Mutton highlighting the land area of Australia as about 7.69 million square kilometres.
“By contrast, the surface area of the moon is 37.94 million square kilometres, so the homesites will be larger than you’ll find in any capital city.
“And we expect to have some waterfront sites available, as NASA recently announced water is widely distributed across the lunar surface,” he shared.
