The award-winning Sydney-based auctioneer is going solo, kicking off his own business endeavour, “Riley Auctions”.
Edward Riley has indicated it’s time to “move out” after 15 years under the same network banner.
Formerly of McGrath Estate Agents, Mr Riley has a number of accolades to his name, having been crowned McGrath auctioneer of the year, REINSW auctioneer of the year, Estate Agent Co-operative auctioneer of the year, as well as having represented NSW at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships on three separate occasions.
According to the “passionate” auctioneer, the timing is now right to go independent, having revealed that the new venture provides him with the opportunity to work with a wider cross-section of the real estate industry, something he is looking forward to doing.
“I am very excited to be able to share my many years of experience and finely-honed auctioneering skills with a fresh group of agents. I look forward to developing new relationships and helping agents grow their existing auction businesses.
“As the market continues to shift, it is now more important than ever that agents engage an experienced auctioneer,” he professed.
Not only does he see the auction process as providing agents with a structured timeline to work towards, but Mr Riley also said he “truly believe[s] it gives vendors the best opportunity to maximise their sale price whilst providing buyers with a transparent environment in which to purchase”.
Having spent 25 years in the industry, Mr Riley has also worked as a sales agent on Sydney’s upper north shore and is well known within industry circles, having emceed a number of events, including the REINSW Awards.
And in testament to his character, Mr Riley has also conducted more than 500 charity and fundraising auctions over the course of his career.
