Michael Dowling and Alex Mintorn are adding to the brand-new Sydney group’s partnership team.
Just two weeks after the brand first opened its doors, it’s been revealed that Mr Dowling will be taking on the Gladesville hub, with the assistance of eight agents and associates, while Mr Mintorn and seven of his upper north shore colleagues will be holding down the fort of the upper north shore (Wahroonga) office, having broken away from McGrath to do so.
Pello is a brainchild of founder and group chief executive Stefon Bertram, who has expressed that he was thrilled to be able to announce the new partners and their “exceptional” teams as joining the group.
“Alex and Michael are widely respected, high-performing premium agents with a great understanding of the dynamics of the markets they operate so successfully in,” Mr Bertram said.
He flagged that their consistent excellence has seen each feature regularly in the top five agents in the McGrath network nationally, and it has made them fixtures in the REB Top 100 Agents in Australia list for many years.
In 2021 alone, Mr Mintorn was reported as transacting 131 properties, while Mr Dowling sold a total of 186 properties over the same period.
“Together the teams at Gladesville and Wahroonga offices have sold more than $600 million worth of premium properties in the past 12 months, achieving outstanding prestige sales and incredible results for their clients,” Mr Bertram said.
Mr Dowling and Mr Mintorn join the Pello partnership alongside Tim Foote, who has taken the lead on Pello’s lower north shore operation in Mosman.
REB has previously reported on Pello’s plans for “market segment mastery” in each of its areas serviced.
Mr Bertram had argued that “by mastering and dealing exclusively in one price segment, Pello agents have the expertise and intimate knowledge needed to achieve outstanding sales results for all clients”.
“Our agents maintain a disciplined local focus in their price range and become a specialist, rather than spreading themselves thin across multiple price ranges and property types,” he said.
He had also considered Pello’s model “a clear point of difference from the dominant industry model of multiple agents or teams with multiple leaders (EBUs) within the same agency competing across various price points”.
Despite only launching in the middle of April, the group has already seen its first successful sale at auction, thanks to Pello’s exclusive auctioneer in key markets, Edward Riley.
On 23 April, Pello achieved a $4.85 million result for a three-bedroom apartment in Mosman.
