The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) has revealed a former president will once again take on the role, set to serve through to October 2022.

Richard Simpson will be taking on the presidential position following the resignation of Adam Docking as president in late-April, 2022.

Mr Simpson is a partner of North Melbourne-based W.B. Simpson & Son, a residential, commercial and property business and has served as a director on the REIV’s board since 2015.

The real estate agent previously served as REIV president in 2017 and 2018 and has also served two terms as senior vice president, as well as chaired the REIV commercial and industrial chapter committee.

Commenting on his election, Mr Simpson said he is “committed to continuing the hard work of past president Adam Docking as our organisation continues to build a strong and sustainable property sector in Victoria”.

“We have a lot of work to do to effect sound public policy during a year that brings federal and state government elections,” he shared.

“I look forward to working with REIV chief executive Quentin Kilian and his team, as well as liaising closely with our national entity the REIA, as, together, we seek to serve the best interests of our members and promote fairness and transparency for all participants in the sector.”

A number of other leadership appointments were made at the board meeting.

Mornington Peninsula agent Andrew Meehan has been appointed as senior vice-president, while former president Leah Calnan will take on the vice-president role.
