The Professionals has ticked over a huge $4 million fundraising milestone for its work with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
It’s the culmination of a 17-year partnership between the real estate group and the charity, with Professionals Group Australia considered a “diamond partner” for NBCF.
Lauding the “amazing achievement”, Professionals’ chairman Cameron Wilson said the company had raised the money in a variety of different ways.
“As part of our commitment to help fund research, every one of our Australian offices donated a portion of their commission from each property sale towards the Breast Cancer Foundation,’’ he revealed.
“Our members also held a wide range of charity events throughout the year ranging from morning teas through to social outings, sporting events and auctions.”
Acknowledging breast cancer as a terrible disease, he added that it affects far too many women and families in Australia.
“Almost everybody in Australia knows somebody or knows or somebody whose life has been touched by breast cancer,” he said.
Considering that “there is nothing more important in this world than the health and wellbeing of the people around you”, Mr Wilson said the company is “proud to support NBCF to help make Australia a happier and healthier place”.
Reflecting on the 17-year partnership between the two organisations, NBCF chief executive and Associate Professor Cleola Anderiesz said Professionals “had been a valuable partner”.
“This huge level of support means we can fund world-class research that will help detect tumours earlier, improve treatment outcomes and ultimately – save lives.
“The loyalty from this partnership is a testament to both parties and their commitment to reaching zero deaths from breast cancer,” the CEO concluded.
