After reaching the pinnacle of his chosen sport, Antony Golec says he is now ready to step into the real estate arena, particularly in the inner-west area of Sydney.
Richard Matthews Real Estate officially announced that the former footballer has joined its Summer Hill office as a sales executive.
Directors Richard Baini and Matthew Everingham welcomed the seasoned sportsman into the agency’s ranks.
“We love being a team of high achievers and we have tremendous confidence that Antony will bring that very same level of professionalism, attention to detail and determination to succeed in football, across to the real estate industry,” the executives stated.
The agency, which currently operates primarily in Sydney’s inner west and south-west, cited Mr Golec’s “sky-high determination and a name synonymous with excellence and relentless dedication” for making him a perfect fit for the team.
“[Antony’s] core values and those of his family are aligned with our values at Richard Matthews Real Estate and we are delighted to have Antony kicking goals for our valued clients and our team,” Mr Baini and Mr Everingham noted.
Mr Golec said the career shift was in line with his field of interest, stating: “I’ve always had an interest and passion for real estate. The industry itself is quite unique in the sense that you never know what can happen, I am excited that this role will continually challenge me and push me to new heights.”
After decades of being a resident in the local area, the former sportsman said he is now equipped with “unmatched local knowledge”.
He also enumerated why he chose to embark on his real estate career with Richard Matthews Real Estate.
“They are a very professional and well-run team that [has] set high standards for all employees within their agency. They have created a positive and exciting culture that gives me the confidence to achieve the goals I have set for myself,” he said.
Mr Golec’s addition to the Strathfield-headquartered agency comes in the wake of the firm’s recently announced plans to expand city-wide and embark on what it deems to be “the biggest recruitment drive of the century”.
During REB’s REInnovate conference on 3 March, Mr Baini explained why they feel they obtain high results when moulding raw talent from industries like sales and education, among others.
“Everyone knows if you want to teach someone to play golf, it is a lot easier to train someone who has never played before, and we put this in place and have seen it to be true within our team,” he said.
