Harcourts West Realty Deer Park is celebrating a big win, as the agency welcomes a “high-flyer” agent into its roster.

The Melbourne-based office has announced that Anthony Christakakis is joining its team at the start of the new financial year, following an 11 years long stint with an opposing real estate firm.

Harcourts West lauded the new addition to its team, with the firm describing Mr Christakakis as a well known and respected agent in the west of Melbourne and who boasts acreage deals of over $20 million in total.

For Mr Christakakis, the decision to switch was a strategic career move: “I decided to join Harcourts because their vision aligned with mine, I could see the want for growth, a great office culture and a strong team environment that my brother and I wanted to be involved with.”

He further explained that moving to Harcourts was more than just being with an established brand.

“The main reason is, I feel I have the right people around me to assist me in becoming the best leader possible,” he professed.

“I was so impressed at the Harcourts conference with the amount of people that are buying into what the brand is building.”

With his career hitting a new milestone, Mr Christakakis has reminisced on the high points throughout his career to date.

Looking back to the early days in the industry, Mr Christakakis shared that he became the number one agent in the outer western region at just 22 years old. He jovially described his area of past triumph as “suburbs I didn’t even know existed before I was 18!”

Mr Christakakis said another highlight of his career was when he took the reins of an office with no market share at the age of 24. Later, the office rose to the ranks to become number two in the suburb.

Now a family man, the new Harcourts recruit is determined to help younger generations get their foot on the property market ladder.

“One of the most satisfying parts of my job is helping younger people that have worked hard to save a deposit, accomplish a huge goal that they have set,” said Mr Christakakis proudly.

Noting that his career has been built on buyer management, and is still the biggest part of his business, he concluded: “In an area where first home buyers need guidance, I have the patience to help with that.”
