As part of its rollout of a dozen new licensees in the coming months, the international brand has further tested the local waters by opening two new offices north of Sydney.

One Agency has welcomed the launch of two new offices in Umina Beach and Woy Woy.

The newly minted offices, to be named One Agency Umina Beach – Woy Woy after rebranding from Richardson & Wrench, will be led by Joel Fletcher and Kristy Thomson.

One Agency founder and chief executive Paul Davies said that the duo believes the new agency will have a “significant” impact on the region.

“One Agency Umina Beach – Woy Woy boasts one of the area’s largest rent rolls and Mr Fletcher and Ms Thomson have ambitious plans to grow their sales business with a two office presence in the area,” it was reported by the group.

For Mr Fletcher and Ms Thomson, the decision to rebrand took several factors into consideration.

The duo stated that they were in search of a more flexible model that allowed them to build their business and brand but would also offer lower fees than is associated with typical franchising.

In the end, they surmised that One Agency could provide them with the support of an international brand while still giving them the independence to run “their own show”.

“We’d spoken with a few brands, [and] found the One Agency network had everything we needed,” Mr Fletcher stated.

He also added that with additional proptech now easily and economically sourced from external providers, he didn’t want to depend on a franchise in order to be up to date with industry-related technology.

He also talked about the behind the scenes of rebranding, noting that “the transition process has been really quite straightforward and seamless”.

The two-office launch on the NSW Central Coast is in line with One Agency’s long-term plans for expansion. Recently, the group announced it had administered licences for a record number of new principals over the 2022 calendar year.

According to One Agency, it has delivered 170 licences throughout Australasia since 2008, with a total of 20 new licences being issued so far in 2022, as of mid-June.
