More than 39 per cent of working Australians could only survive for 30 days on their current savings if they lost their job, statistics from Dun & Bradstreet’s Consumer Credit Expectations Survey today revealed.

According to the survey, Australians are feeling challenged by current economic conditions, with middle income households ($30,000-69,999) and the two younger age groups (18-34 and

35-49 year olds) in particular, demonstrating signs of financial stress.

The survey also revealed that 38 per cent of Australians will resort to using their credit card as a means of managing household expenses during the September quarter.
