Shane Kempton has been announced the new state chief executive officer of Harcourts Western Australia.

Mr Kempton returns to the role he held for two years from 2006 to 2008 in a move he claims is like a return home.

“Harcourts started my corporate career 15 years ago, when we launched the brand in Western Australia,” he said. In the time since his initial departure from the top job, Mr Kempton served in a variety of roles, including as chief executive officer at Professionals Real Estate Group and the state director of LJ Hooker Western Australia.

The father of four’s career has also seen him serve his country, having been a soldier with the Australian Special Air Service (SAS) and author of a book titled Your Best Days are Ahead of You. He has developed an array of skills in his varied professional career, all of which the brand believes he will add to his new role.

“Character creates destiny for individuals, and culture determines destiny for organisations, therefore it is a privilege to be leading and serving Harcourts in WA once again and returning to the real estate group that leads the way in culture and values,” Mr Kempton stated.

“I believed in our vision 15 years ago, and I feel even more compelled and committed to it now. The industry and our clients deserve the finest real estate experience, and here at Harcourts, we can deliver this.”

Harcourts Australia CEO Adrian Knowles said, “it’s great to welcome him back into blue”.

“That Shane is so in-tune with the Harcourts values, our focus on its people, coupled with his considerable real estate experience, made appointing him for the CEO position in WA an obvious choice,” he continued.

“It’s great that he has the opportunity to build upon the fine work the previous CEOs have done, and of course the foundation that the state support team have laid, who are pillars of strength and loyalty.”

Mr Kempton concurred, “be it leading, coaching, parenting, partnering or friending, there is no greater joy than seeing the effect your positive impact has on someone you care about”.

It has been a week of reappointing familiar faces at Harcourts after the brand announced the return of Mike Green to the role of managing director, a role he vacated in 2019 after 20 years at the company’s helm.
