REB and partner Realtair are thrilled to unveil the Top 50 Dealmakers rankings for the sixth consecutive year, recognising those agents who have consistently gone above and beyond for their customers.

Compiled and verified by Momentum Intelligence (the research arm of REB’s parent company Momentum Media), the rankings celebrate the top-performing transactional agents who have consistently delivered for their customers across Australia despite grappling with tougher economic conditions, a cooler property market, rising interest rates, and increased mortgage stress among customers.

The ranking methodology focuses on three major markers of dealmaking: number of deals, year-on-year growth, and consistency of performance.

To compile the rankings, REB asked agents to submit figures from their settled residential property sales across the 2022 financial year between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022.

The 2022 Dealmakers ranking data revealed that the top 50 agents averaged more deals across the 2022 financial year despite facing more headwinds.

Indeed, they averaged a total of 139 property deals over the 2022 financial year, up from 133 deals in 2021.

Among the states, Victoria bounced back from prolonged lockdowns and associated restrictions on property inspections and auctions during the peak of the COVID-19 crisis.

There were 14 representatives from the state, up from nine in 2021 and the second-highest amongst all the states.

NSW repeated its performance from 2021 with the highest number of representatives at 15 (unchanged from 2021).

However, Queensland fell to third place, with 10 representatives (down from 15 last year).

Realtair chief executive and co-founder Peter Matthews expressed delight at partnering with REB Dealmakers this year and celebrating agents who are consistently growing and achieving in their markets.

“Growth and consistency are traits that are core to what we do here at Realtair,” Mr Matthews told REB.

“Our focus here at Realtair is to build technology that enables this consistency easily, all while enhancing transparency in the industry. Because the best response to an uncertain market is trust and transparency — and the best way to achieve trust and transparency is with technology.”

REB editor Grace Ormsby also weighed in, stating that the Dealmakers ranking is an important reputational tool for those agents who make the cut.

“The Dealmakers ranking inspires both excellence in customer service, and the driving of an efficient business,” she shared.

Congratulating every agent named in the 2022 ranking, Ms Ormsby said that, like in years gone by, the Dealmakers ranking “highlights the hard work being done by agents across the breadth of the country”.

“It’s no mean feat to be among the country’s top agents for consistency and number of deals,” she said.

Momentum Intelligence director Michael Johnson said: “The REB Dealmakers ranking focuses on the growth of agents’ portfolios year-on-year and consistency month-on-month, providing a platform to all the hardest working agents in the industry.”
