The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) has announced the appointment of a senior Harcourts member to the board.
Sam Hatzistamatis, Harcourts Victoria’s property management operations manager, expressed his excitement at taking up the new role, stating that he looked forward “to being a part of the continued journey for our profession as we embrace change and the changing needs of our industry”.
In addition to his bachelor of behavioural science, bachelor of business (marketing) and a certificate IV in training and assessment, Mr Hatzistamatis is a specialist in property management who believes that after two decades in the industry, it’s his role to “help [and] give back”.
He divulged that “the REIV is our industry body to represent real estate agents”, adding that “as one of the board of directors at the REIV who develop the strategy and direct the chief executive officer (CEO) and institute on the journey, I will enjoy encouraging everyone involved in real estate to become a member”.
Building on this, Harcourts Australia CEO Adrian Knowles stated that the REIV is “the peak representative body for real estate practitioners in Victoria. A position on its board is a significant acknowledgement of the value that Sam can bring to the organisation and its membership”.
Karmen Costigan, Harcourts head of property management, said the company was incredibly proud of Mr Hatzistamatis’ achievements.
She concluded that “a presence on the board ensures that both REIV and Harcourts are up to date with the latest developments in our industry”.
Mr Hatzistamatis’ comes as the institute gears up for a change of leadership, with Richard Simpson set to begin his role as REIV president in October, taking over from the departing Adam Docking.
