The network is taking the expression “no mountain high enough” to another level.
LJ Hooker Solutions Gold Coast announced that it had strengthened its presence in the city’s hinterland lifestyle area with the launch of a new outfit in Tamborine Mountain.
The newly unveiled office comes following the network’s acquisition of First National Tamborine Mountain’s 100-strong rent roll.
Both Blake Wallis and Fleur Wallis — who have taken over the business from former First National principal Kate Wallis — will also now be operating under the national group’s banner in the wake of the rebranding.
With the expansion, LJ Hooker Solutions Gold Coast’s web in the region has grown to seven offices, which includes Nerang, Pacific Pines, Ormeau, Coomera, Helensvale, and Hope Island.
The hinterland post will also complete the group’s trifecta of northern city locations — creating the LJ Hooker Ormeau | Coomera | Tamborine Mountain team, which will be led by director Nicole Hintz and general manager Scott Hughes.
Mr Wallis expressed his enthusiasm for the benefits the alignment with the national brand would bring both for the business and for their clients.
“On Tamborine Mountain, the real estate market is made up of small teams. Myself and Fleur will still offer clients our local knowledge, strategies and connections, but we’ll now be able to tap into the greater resources of a seven-office network. We’ll have greater support and opportunities to cross-sell our sellers’ properties across a wider group of offices,” he said.
LJ Hooker Solutions Gold Coast director Shane Colquhoun reflected that the alignment marks a coming-full-circle moment after a 20-year business relationship with the family-led business.
“I’d known Kate from my time at First National 15 years ago. [She] had been looking to wind down from work, and she had confidence that the business she’d built-up — which includes her son Blake and Fleur — would continue to thrive within the LJ Hooker Solutions Gold Coast network,” Mr Colquhoun said.
LJ Hooker general network manager Stephen Mutton said the latest office addition reaffirmed the group’s position as the market leader in the arc connecting the Gold Coast’s western and northern corridors.
“Tamborine Mountain has always been a sought-after lifestyle market, but it’s come into even sharper focus amongst buyers over the last two years,” said Mr Mutton.
The network revealed that the strategic move to enter Tamborine Mountain’s market was driven by the area’s status as the “green behind the gold” of the Gold Coast.
Aside from having desirable lifestyle amenities and a thriving tourism industry, the brand is also looking to capitalise on the location’s strong offerings for those who are looking to get on the tree- or sea-change trend, which soared in popularity during the pandemic.
While Tamborine Mountain is known for its rainforests and national parks, the network pointed out that it’s still a desirable location for sea changers by being a 45-minute drive from Gold Coast beaches.
Its close proximity to major cities, including Logan and Brisbane, also makes it a crowd favourite among buyers who have secured flexible work arrangements.
According to CoreLogic, the spike in the area’s popularity has caused median house prices to skyrocket by 29.1 per cent to $900,000 over the 12-month period to July. Over the last three years, house values have risen by a staggering 57.9 per cent.
“With the support of LJ Hooker Solutions Gold Coast, Tamborine Mountain’s sellers and landlords will be treated to a greater level of service and results through Shane’s and Nicole’s commitment,” Mr Mutton stated.
