The former head of property management for parent company Agency HQ has been revealed as taking on the new role.

Yasemin Kemal joins Rental HQ from parent company Agency HQ and brings with her nearly two decades of industry experience to the post, including a stint leading Harcourts’ property management division.

Her new role bolsters the company’s property management division during a period of severe drought for the sector.

“It’s an interesting time,” Ms Kemal acknowledged. “Good property managers are in huge demand at the moment, and some agencies are having to wait months to find the right person, all while needing to keep the wheels turning.”

Compared to previous years, she said more agents are now seeking to secure a rental portfolio, while other business owners look to grow their rent roll, even without adequate resources to do so.

“Agents know this is the biggest asset they can have in the industry, yet often turn away knowing how much hard work is required in managing the portfolio,” she explained.

Outside of collecting rents, she said there are a plethora of components — such as computing changing legalisation and thinking about compliance — that make up managing a portfolio.

“Our members want the best of both worlds. Whether they are a business owner or a sales agent, they want their portfolio handled by professionals, while still retaining 100 per cent ownership of the management.

“Both principals and sales agents have embraced the offering as they have the ability to park their rent roll with us, watch it grow, and know their asset is being looked after by industry professionals, while retaining complete ownership,” she concluded.

Ms Keman’s appointment is the latest in a stream of business changes occurring throughout Agency HQ in 2022, which notably included the brand expanding its presence in the Gold Coast last month as well as the establishment of the network’s new agent model in June, which “offers services such as the running of rent roll operations, administration, HR, tech support and trust accounting, freeing up agents to focus on sales while still operating as independent entities”.
