As part of LJ Hooker’s latest push into Queensland, the network has set up base in one of Brisbane’s “most established” suburbs.
The network has shared the opening of a new office in the popular riverside suburb St Lucia, which will offer a full suite of real estate services across residential properties, including sales and property management.
Ash Chawla — who initially kicked his career with the brand six years ago — will be leading the new outfit as managing director and principal.
Heading the new office will be a returning-to-his-roots moment for Mr Chawla, who has operated under another major brand banner as a lead sales agent while developing a team of his own after leaving the LJ Hooker network.
“The time felt right for me to start my own business — I looked at all the other options, but I had a special connection to LJ Hooker because it is where my career started,” said Mr Chawla.
Aside from the network’s strong training and systems offering, Mr Chawla said that LJ Hooker’s reputation for providing “outstanding customer service” — a value that resonates with him — served as the driver for his return.
Other members to comprise LJ Hooker St Lucia’s D-suite are director of sales Vipin Bishnoi and director of marketing Eddie Singh, both of whom have worked previously with Mr Chawla.
Housed within a new and architect-designed sustainable establishment, LJ Hooker said the new location has a “prominent position” within the suburb’s lone retail strip, which will “cater for the growth of the business”. Mr Chawla revealed he is already looking to recruit additional sales and property management staff.
Speaking on the latest Brisbane launch, LJ Hooker general manager Stephen Mutton expressed his enthusiasm for Mr Chawla’s realignment with the brand.
“It certainly is the mark of a real estate network when talented teams choose to open their own office with us, while also entrusting us to support and guide them on their business growth journey,” he stated.
The recently named also lauded the brand’s arrival in what he deems will “become a key market for the LJ Hooker brand”.
“The north-western suburbs of Brisbane are a very stable and sought area, and the new St Lucia office is one of many to come throughout that corridor as we look to expand,” he said.
According to the firm, St Lucia is a popular suburb among young professionals, families and retirees, which are key indicators of strong demand for properties in the area.
It also highlighted that the strong rental demand due to its proximity to the University of Queensland also makes the suburb a sought-after location for investors.
