Following three years at executive level at a rival network, Rachel Maher rejoins McGrath under a new top post.

She arrives back at the brand she spent 12 years fine-tuning her craft at, initially as a customer service manager at McGrath’s Lane Cove outfit in 2007 before moving across roles such as the network’s general manager franchise operations — where she supported the agency’s franchise rollout — and its head of operations and compliance.

Ms Maher cited the culture of excellence at the network and John McGrath’s — who she heralded for his “passion and drive” — position as managing director and chief executive officer as a “drawcard”.

Describing the objectives of her new role, Ms Maher explained her focus on the new customer experience “will include more futuristics and strategic amplifications of social and digital channels as they deliver a broader reach”.

“I am acutely aware that this is a people business and a sales business. I want to support collaboration with our agents [and] understand niche markets and segments as we maximise their marketing initiatives,” she said.

Mr McGrath, who lauded her as “one of the most experienced and talented marketing executives in the residential real estate industry” believes her skills are “exactly what we [McGrath] need as we enter a period of rapid expansion”.

These sentiments were shared by Anthony Meaker, the network’s commercial director, who commended Ms Maher for deep industry knowledge.

“I have worked with Rachel over a period of many years and have seen her fully immersed in all aspects of real estate, from agency, franchise operations, to corporate roles. She has a rich and deep understanding of how we can best collaborate and serve our agents and their clients effectively,” Mr Meaker said.

He noted: “Importantly, Rachel understands the DNA of McGrath and what makes it special.”

Tracey Dixon, who Ms Maher worked under during her formative McGrath years, said: “I’ve watched her progression and her desire to innovate and expand her horizons.

“She is well known and well liked, and my team and I are really excited to work closely with someone who has the depth of experience not only with our company, but with the industry.”

Ms Maher’s appointment caps a stellar November for McGrath who thus far has expanded its footprint in Brisbane, announced a strategic partnership with insurance provider Honey to be rolled out across all company-owned offices, and welcomed approximately 80 years of industry experience into the brand’s busting Double Bay outfit.
