Over half a century after the network opened its first-ever office in Potts Point, Laing+Simmons has revealed its re-entrance into the vibrant inner Sydney suburb.
Despite Laing+Simmons Potts Point’s infancy, the office will be headed up by an experienced team of locals, including principals Imran Hamidi and Kevin Mendes, who rejoin the network to lead the outfit and extend their local legacies.
Despite challenging present market conditions, the pair haven’t shied from setting long-term goals and have already outlined their intention to “persevere in the face of current headwinds and establish our value proposition among the community at a time when people demand added value”, said Mr Hamidi.
He added his belief such actions would “position us well for future market shifts”.
Given Mr Hamidi’s reputation within the area, boosted by his sale of a Potts Point terrace for a suburb recorded terrace and third-highest terrace sale Australia-wide for the property type, he explained the office’s point of difference is “local — not just as local agents with local experience, but as buyers and vendors of local property ourselves”.
Moreover, both men possess extensive experience buying and selling within inner Sydney and eastern suburbs markets; he confirmed the pair “know firsthand the intricacies of the process and therefore bring the necessary empathetic understanding to buyers and sellers”.
Joining the pair at the new Potts Point outfit are experienced lead generator Jake Gould and property consultant Stella Doumanis, though they noted their intention to expand the team further.
Mr Mendes outlined the Potts Point office has “created an environment that aligns with the rest of the community, with an open-door policy”.
“Our focus is on the collective,” he said, adding, “becoming embedded as part of the fabric of the local community will be the ultimate measure of our success.”
Harriet Saunders, Laing+Simmons head of growth and development, said the Potts Point team “exemplifies the type of experienced local operators we want to attract to the network”.
“We are proud to welcome another new office to the network in 2022,” she said.
Additionally, network chief executive officer Leanne Pilkington expressed her belief that “Laing+Simmons belongs in Potts Point”.
“Led by Imran and Kevin, the brand’s new representation in this important inner-city market is the ideal combination of deep experience and new energy, which will ensure our ongoing presence in the area delivers long-term benefits to buyers, vendors, tenants, landlords, and everyone else in the community,” Ms Pilkington concluded.
