An extensive recruitment process led the Property Council of Australia (PCA) to a former director at ADK Advisory.
Anthony Knep will assume the role of executive director of capital markets at the PCA on 13 February. He brings with him 25 years of experience in capital markets, equity investment, and funds management to the role.
He possesses a Masters in Real Estate Investment from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where he also lectures on investment asset allocation and real estate economics.
PCA chief executive Mike Zorbas credited Mr Knep as a “leader with extensive knowledge of and experience working in capital markets,” adding he has “the strategic and technical knowledge required to advance domestic and overseas investment in our cities.”
“He also has communication skills required to champion complex reforms in a fast-moving regulatory environment,” Mr Zorbas added.
“I am pleased to welcome Anthony to the team, knowing he will provide sound advice to members and governments alike.”
Mr Zorbas also paid credit to the woman Mr Knep replaced, Belinda Ngo, who is pursuing new opportunities following a decade-long tenure with the PCA, as “a leading light for the industry [who] has been an inspiring leader for our organisation.”
“Belinda’s commitment to good public policy and to our members has taken the capital markets division from strength to strength. She joins the significant family of property council alumni with our enduring thanks,” he said.
Mr Knep said he was thrilled to enter his new role to lead the capital markets division and “champion the great work of our members.”
He concluded, “I am also honoured to work with such an experienced and outstanding team and will endeavour to deliver the highest level of commitment and service to our members and the industry.”
Mr Knep is the second appointment made by the Property Council this year, after Mr Zorbas was named as the council’s fifth-ever chief executive officer at the end of January after his predecessor, Ken Morrison, relinquished his duties late last year.
