Altitude Real Estate’s director Paul Tonich has started hosting training seminars for agents looking to “double their business” using social networking tools.

Mr Tonich said networking and media tools such as facebook and twitter are a real estate agent’s marketing heaven.

He attributes much of his company’s growing success to the effective use of social media within his entire team.

Mr Tonich told Real Estate Business that twitter and facebook can help a company generate brand awareness, build business development units and initiate strong relationships with customers.

“Facebook helps agents extend their reach and exposure for no cost at all.

“It is like a virtual party and needs to be treated as such. Agents should use facebook to communicate with people on a social level,” Mr Tonich said.

According to Mr Tonich, his real estate page has more than 2,700 fans and offers a lot more than property listings.

“I use facebook to add to people’s lives. I discuss current events that I know people in the area would be interested in. We have product offers and competitions on our page because they help us show the community what we stand for and what we are all about,” he said.
