The budding inner city Sydney agency has prioritised its “most valuable asset” in a new collaboration with virtual healthcare provider CU Health.

Partnering with CU Health, Australia’s first virtual healthcare practice, allows the network’s employees to access a wide range of healthcare professionals, including general practitioners, dietitians, physiotherapists, psychologists, health coaches, and nurse support, amongst others.

CobdenHayson explained the health and wellbeing of their employees is a main priority of the business, commenting: “At the heart of this partnership is a commitment to taking the necessary steps to ensure our people are looked after in every capacity.”

At a time when the “pace and pressures of the world” are seemingly ever-increasing, leading to over half of all prime-aged workers reporting burnout, the network firmed its belief the partnership with CU Health is “an important path forward,” not least of all because of the increased stresses faced by many within the industry who are grappling with the effects of the national rental and housing crises.

CobdenHayson said its latest partnership was intended to “enable our people to feel and perform at their best, maintain positivity, and get ahead of the curve in accessing the help they need.”

It’s something many Australian workers appear to be in need of, with a recent review of the wellbeing of Australia’s workforce concluding the country is facing a looming “wellness crisis,” with employee wellness falling to 34.5 per cent in the December 2022 quarter.

A staple of CU Health’s services, which has been part of its offering since the company was founded in 2017, is the availability of appointments outside of traditional working hours in order to accommodate busy employee schedules. This, the network hopes, will ensure that their members “can look after their health while fulfilling their professional obligations.”

As part of the deal, CobdenHayson employees will receive access to several benefits, ranging from video appointments with healthcare professionals to receiving online scripts and referrals without any out-of-pocket costs.

The network hopes its partnership with CU Health will pave the way for the real estate industry to “champion a culture of wellbeing that supports the long-term health of our team, our future employees, and our business.”

Improving employee wellbeing has been at the forefront of other real estate brands, including the REA Group, which recently offered its wellbeing platform, previously only available to property managers, to all its members, while a new Harcourts initiative will see the brand focus on a new aspect of “fitness” for each quarter of 2023, with the program kicking off by exploring physical activity in Q1.
