The state’s top-performing agents have secured a place in the REB Top 50 Agents South Australia 2023 ranking.

Now in its third year, the annual state-based Top 50 Agents South Australia ranking and associated report acknowledge the best and brightest agents in the state, who have contributed to setting strong professional performance standards in Australia.

At its heart, the ranking champions agents who have adopted a local approach and gone above and beyond for their clients.

The ranking and report have been published by Real Estate Business (REB), produced jointly with parent company Momentum Media, and powered by research arm Momentum Intelligence.

After combating the challenges posed by the COVID-19 crisis, agents faced new obstacles as economic headwinds resulted in a fluctuating property market and buyer demand as well as rising interest rates hindering buyers’ ability to secure a home loan.

As a result, South Australian agents saw a decline in their figures across key metrics, but remained determined to pursue excellence during the 2022 calendar year.

There was a 21.4 per cent drop year on year in the total number of sales across the top 50 agents to 4,350 in 2022.

However, the total sales value increased slightly from $3.3 billion to $3.4 billion, indicating a higher average sales price of each property.

The average sale price increased from $600,000 in 2021 to $807,071 in 2022.

The top 10 agents sold 1,334 properties worth $1.4 billion in 2022, down from 1,437 properties sold in 2021 for $1.2 billion.

Their average sale price also increased from $840,000 to $1.1 million in 2022 according to the data.

Despite lower buyer demand, average days on market plummeted by 15 year on year to 25 in 2022 across the top 50 agents, and fell from 23 to 20 across the top 10 agents.

Commenting on the successes of the South Australian agents, REB editor Grace Ormsby said the latest results showcase the strength of the state’s market — and of the professionals working within it.

“Congratulations to every single agent who has made the cut in 2023; your capability and professionalism have well and truly set the bar for South Australian agents.”

In the coming weeks, REB will release the Top 50 Agents 2023 rankings for Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria, and NSW.

The Top 100 Agents and Top 50 Women in Real Estate 2023 rankings will be revealed soon after.
