REB is proud to present the top 50 Agents in Victoria for 2023.

Now in its third year, the annual state-based rankings and associated report have been published by Real Estate Business (REB), produced jointly with parent company Momentum Media and powered by research arm Momentum Intelligence.

The ranking and associated report highlight the listed agents’ contribution to setting strong professional performance standards in Australia, offering a benchmark for success and a record of achievement that other agents could aspire to.

At its heart, the ranking champions agents who have adopted a local approach to servicing their clients and achieved outstanding sales figures across the 2022 calendar year.

After combating the challenges posed by the COVID-19 crisis, agents are once again operating in a difficult market as economic headwinds dampen buyer demand and rising interest rates hinder their ability to secure a home loan.

As a result, there was a slump in numbers across some metrics, but Victorian agents remained resilient and achieved strong sales numbers nevertheless.

Indeed, the top 50 agents sold 5,079 properties in 2022 valued at $8.0 billion, down from 5,543 properties worth $8.8 billion in 2021.

Out of this, the top 10 agents sold 1,322 properties worth $2.6 billion, down from 1,359 properties valued at $3.1 billion in 2021.

Each listed agent sold an average of 102 residential properties each valued at $159.4 million, while the top 10 agents sold 132 properties worth $256.9 million.

Days on market increased across the top 50 from 27 to 32 year-on-year across the top 50 agents in Victoria but decreased from 29 to 27 across the top 10 agents.

Despite the overall weakening of the property market, the average sale price increased from $1.6 million in 2021 among the top 50 agents to $1.7 million in 2022.

However, it fell from $2.4 million to $2.0 million across the top 10 listed agents.

For the rankings, agents were asked to submit data from their settled residential sales for the 2022 calendar year.

The rankings were determined by using a range of metrics, including the number of properties sold, the total dollar volume of properties sold, and the average sale value.

Each agent has been ranked comparatively across these three metrics against their peers, with the combined comparative score used to determine the top-ranked Australian agents.

Commenting on the successes of Victoria’s top-ranked agents for 2023, REB editor Grace Ormsby acknowledged the resilience and adaptability of the state’s professionals.

“After a tumultuous few years for real estate agents and residents across Melbourne and surrounds, it’s amazing to see the continuation of effort being put in by real estate agents to secure deals and elevate the experience of clients.”

“I’d like to extend a massive congratulations to every single agent who made this ranking; Your drive and capability has set the tone for the state’s real estate sector in years to come.

In the coming days, REB will release the Top 50 Agents 2023 ranking for NSW.

The Top 100 Agents and Top 50 Women in Real Estate 2023 rankings will be revealed soon after.
