REB is pleased to present the top 50 ranked agents across NSW for 2023 for the third consecutive year.

Now in its third year, the annual state-based ranking and associated report have been published by Real Estate Business (REB), produced jointly with parent company Momentum Media and powered by research arm Momentum Intelligence.

The ranking highlights the listed agents’ contribution to setting strong professional performance standards in Australia, and offers a benchmark for success and a record of achievement that other agents could aspire to.

At its heart, the ranking champions agents who have adopted a local approach to servicing their clients and achieved outstanding sales figures across the 2022 calendar year.

After combating the challenges posed by the COVID-19 crisis, agents are once again operating in a difficult market as economic headwinds dampen buyer demand and rising interest rates hinder their ability to secure a home loan.

Despite this, the ranking data has revealed that NSW agents remained resilient and achieved strong outcomes.

The top 50 agents sold 6,432 properties last year, up from 6,160 in 2021, out of which the top 10 sold 1,648 properties (down from 1,755 in 2021).

Each of the top 50 agents sold 129 properties on average in 2022, amounting to $285.3 million. The top 10 agents sold 165 properties on average totalling $506.5 million.

As rising rates cooled buyer demand, days in market surged by seven days for the top 50 agents and by eight days for the top 10 agents year-on-year to 34.

Despite falls in property prices, the average sale price increased from $2.4 million to $2.6 million for the top 50 agents, and from $2.9 million to $3.1 million for the top 10 agents.

For the rankings, agents were asked to submit data from their settled residential sales for the 2022 calendar year.

The rankings were determined by using a range of metrics, including the number of properties sold, the total dollar volume of properties sold, and the average sale value.

Each agent has been ranked comparatively across these three metrics against their peers, with the combined comparative score used to determine the top-ranked Australian agents.

Weighing in on this year’s results, REB editor Grace Ormsby noted the drive, determination and excellence on show across NSW.

“These agents cannot be underestimated, especially in light of recent market conditions.”

“This year’s cohort of ranked agents represents the extremely high standards being set by professionals across the state. Congratulations to every single agent named.”

In the coming days, REB will release The Top 100 Agents and Top 50 Women in Real Estate 2023 rankings so keep an eye out for those!
