LJ Hooker sets its sights on amplifying property management opportunities in Queensland and the Northern Territory with the addition of a growth specialist in its ranks.
Kathy Brown will partner with franchise owners across the two states, bringing broad experience to the role, having held both corporate and agency roles at major franchise groups, including Harcourts.
Before joining the network’s roster, the growth specialist also served as the director of Brown Consulting, where she provided guidance to agency owners encompassing a wide range of areas, including rent roll acquisitions, fostering organic growth, and implementing strategies to enhance service quality and productivity.
LJ Hooker general manager of network Australia Steve Mutton said Ms Brown’s appointment comes as the states — especially Queensland — were experiencing “unprecedented rental conditions”.
PropTrack’s latest data revealed vacancy rates in Brisbane stood at 1.22 per cent in April — indicating an incredibly tight rental market in the region.
The same conditions are observed in the Northern Territory, with vacancy rates in Darwin clocking in at 1.66 per cent during the period, according to PropTrack.
“Kathy has extensive experience leading teams and offering strategic business guidance to franchise owners,” Mr Mutton said.
The executive emphasised Ms Brown’s involvement in significant acquisitions and sales, which will be a “valuable asset” for the network at a time when “property managements are at a premium”.
Echoing Mr Mutton’s statements, LJ Hooker’s head of property management Nick Georges also lauded Ms Brown’s addition to the brand’s network performance team.
“Having led some of Queensland’s largest property management portfolios, Kathy’s experience and knowledge is going to be extremely valuable to the entire group as investors continue to turn to LJ Hooker’s trusted reputation,” he said.
Ms Brown expressed her enthusiasm for engaging with LJ Hooker’s business owners and property management leaders throughout the two states.
“I’ve always admired LJ Hooker’s brand and values, and the network has embraced its unique service proposition for property management for great results,” she said.
Noting Queensland’s population has significantly grown in the wake of the pandemic, Ms Brown said there is a significant increase in pressure on an already tight rental market.
“I’m looking forward to assisting our franchise owners in maximising the opportunities of the current cycle and positioning themselves for sustainable, ongoing growth,” she concluded.
