In line with the adage “it takes a village to raise a child”, the network has launched a program empowering disadvantaged youth with pathways to future career opportunities.

In collaboration with not-for-profit Bridge Builders Youth Charity, Stockdale & Leggo has invited a small group of young people to a “work experience day”.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to acquire a wide range of valuable skills in diverse areas such as marketing, property management, and public relations, with the ultimate goal of opening doors to employment prospects.

Chief executive and founder of Bridge Builders Phil Stenhouse OAM described the program as a “wonderful connection” as it “adds value to young people and develops assets within the young people, and real estate is all about asset building”.

“It has a fantastic alignment with the values of investing in the next generation. It takes a village to raise a child, and Stockdale & Leggo are a part of that village,” he stated.

When asked about his expectations for the work experience day, Mr Stenhouse expressed his excitement in witnessing the positive impact on the participating young individuals.

“I’m excited to see a bunch of our young people have said yes, so if it grows them, develops them, encourages them, and gives them an opportunity to learn more and be more in themselves and give them the confidence and self-esteem to say yes to their life, that would be great,” he commented.

Stockdale & Leggo chief executive and director Charlotte Pascoe described it as “an important initiative to give these young people a chance to learn real life skills that could boost their employment opportunities.”

“We’ve been working with Bridge Builders on this for the past two years because we love what they do, so this was a logical next step to build a program to help more young people in need,” Ms Pascoe added.

The network emphasised that this initiative serves as the starting point for a comprehensive series of initiatives intended to empower disadvantaged youth.

“We are committed to working with Bridge Builders in this space because everyone needs a chance to improve and boost their confidence,” Ms Pascoe stated.

Bridge Builders is an organisation dedicated to promoting recovery, relief, and restoration in the lives of young individuals and their families and is actively seeking increased participation.

Mr Stenhouse expresses his desire to engage more individuals in the philanthropic efforts of Bridge Builders through the Project 100 program, which aims to recruit 100 dedicated contributors to the charity’s cause.
