What will it take to leave old habits behind and move into a space with less stress, more freedom and greater success in life and work?

It takes a belief that you can do it and the discipline to make it happen.

Here are eight steps to shifting gears in your career and getting into a thrive mindset.

  1. Exercise your mind: Your mindset plays a crucial role in your success as a real estate agent. By adopting a growth mindset and cultivating a positive attitude, you can overcome challenges, embrace new opportunities and continuously strive for improvement. It’s a natural way of being and our brains are elastic and need stretching.

  2. Discover your true why: Dig deep and find what really motivates and drives you beyond the almighty dollar. Think about your life journey and how you want to spend your time and who you are with because you don’t get back lost opportunities or time, especially your family time. Make your health, your family and your collective happiness a priority, and everything else will fit around it, not the other way around. Trust me, it works.

  3. Free up your mind to discover what is possible: By freeing up your mind from self-imposed limitations and exploring possibilities, you open yourself up to innovation and creativity. Embrace a mindset of continuous learning, a commitment to self-awareness and EQ to discover new strategies and approaches that can set you apart from others in the industry and make you a more interesting and less miserable person in the process.

  4. Believe in the flow: Knowledge > Belief > Energy > Confidence > Conviction > Consistency > Priorities > Connection: These elements flow to form a progression that leads to success. By acquiring knowledge, believing in yourself and your abilities, channelling energy effectively, building confidence, having conviction in your actions, maintaining consistency, setting priorities and fostering strong connections, you create a solid foundation for your real estate business. It’s the secret sauce of efficiency, effectiveness and performance.

  5. Exercise choice management, not time management: Instead of focusing solely on managing your time, prioritise managing your choices. Make deliberate decisions about where to invest your time and energy to achieve the best results. This approach allows you to be more intentional and proactive in your actions. Understand that you must know the value of your time and how to use it effectively so as not to waste it.

  6. Focus on service commitments: Make it your mantra and set your standards, principles and commitments, and create your own set of business values … and share it with your clients and those you work with because they want to know and understand them. Why? Because no one else talks that language as they do not want to be held accountable. Be held accountable and take responsibility, and you can sleep well at night when you live and breathe it.

  7. Understand impact and outcomes: Real estate transactions have a significant impact on the lives of our client. It is important to focus on the outcomes that clients are seeking, such as finding their dream home, achieving a profitable investment, or resolving a real estate challenge and not on what you get out of it. By keeping their desired outcomes in mind and working towards achieving them, you can ensure that your clients’ goals are met, and their experience with you is positive and impactful. You get rewarded for achieving the clients’ outcomes, not your own ego-driven ones.

  8. Make progression to mastery: As you gain expertise and knowledge, your belief in yourself and your capabilities increases. This leads to enhanced energy, confidence, conviction and consistency. Prioritising and maintaining these qualities becomes a habit, and building strong connections with clients becomes an integral part of your approach. You have then reached a level of mastery that few achieve.

By embracing these concepts and continuously improving yourself, you can elevate your real estate business, attract the right clients and achieve the next level of success, whilst maintain a great personal life that truly thrives.
