The hole vacated by former president Damian Collins’ departure has finally been filled.
Chiara Pacifici has been elected as the newest member of the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) council following the 2023 Council Election. The institute believes she will bring a fresh perspective to the council given her background as an accredited buyer’s agent and a member of the REIWA Buyers Agent Network Committee.
The results of this year’s election were announced last week at the institute’s 105th annual general meeting, with Ms Pacifici receiving a majority of the votes from ordinary and life members. She fills the void vacated by Mr Collins, whose 12-year tenure included a four-year stint as president.
REIWA president Joe White welcomed Ms Pacifici to the council, believing she strengthens the board as the state “faces ongoing challenges in the market”.
Given the market pressures, Mr White added: “I am reassured that we have the industry’s best people to drive the institute’s strategic plan and advocate on members’ behalf.”
“I want to commend Cath Hart for steering the ship so effectively in her first full year as our chief executive officer,” he said.
“I welcome Chiara to the board, and thank my fellow councillors for your unwavering commitment to our industry,” he concluded.
REIWA’s 2023–24 councillors are:
- Joe White (president)
- Suzanne Brown (deputy president)
- Rob Mandanici (chair, finance and risk committee)
- Peta McKenzie
- Peter Lawrance
- Lisa Joyce
- Christopher Tana
- Mark Hay
- Clare Christiansen
- Chiara Pacifici
