For the seventh consecutive year, Real Estate Business (REB) is revealing its Top 50 Dealmakers ranking, which recognises agents who have consistently settled deals in FY23.

The REB Dealmakers ranking has a history of championing top-performing transactional agents who excel in their local areas and have a track record of consistently settling deals for their clients, and this year is no exception.

The 2023 ranking shines a light on the breadth and depth of talents in the Australian real estate industry and agents who have gone above and beyond for vendors and buyers.

Acknowledging the efforts of dealmakers around Australia is critical at this juncture as they have faced multiple challenges in the recent past, including rising interest rates, tightening of the property market, lower stock and borrowers facing mortgage stress.

The ranking is compiled and verified by Agile Market Intelligence, the research arm of REB’s parent company Momentum Media.

During the submission period, REB asked agents to submit figures from their settled residential property sales across the 2022 financial year between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022, as well as the 2023 financial year between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023.

Their performance was measured against three specific metrics:

  • Number of deals in FY23
  • Growth in the number of sales year on year
  • Consistency of sales month on month

This was compared to their FY22 figures to track their year-on-year performance.

The REB Dealmakers data for FY23 revealed that the top 50 agents settled 84.4 deals (down from 139 in FY22), indicating that an increasingly challenging economic environment has impacted performance.

The average consistency score increased from 95.8 the previous year to 97.3 in FY23 among the top 50 dealmakers, and from 97.3 to 97.6 among the top 10.

Western Australia was well represented among the states and territories, with 21 representatives operating in the state, tripling the number from the previous year.

The top three ranked agents operate in Western Australia, while three other agents secured a rank in the top 10.

Victoria had the second largest contingency with 10 agents, but this was down from 14 in FY22.

Both South Australia and NSW had eight representatives, but this resulted in NSW falling from first to third position as it had 15 agents in FY22.

REB editor Grace Ormsby congratulated this year’s top dealmakers, noting: “This year’s ranking showcases the absolute talent that exists in Australian real estate. Your drive, and sustained success, deserves to be celebrated!”

“It brings me such joy to be able to highlight the hard work and commitment on show across the country. Each agent named in this ranking has dedicated time, effort and energy into honing their craft.”
