A 100-year-old local agency is joining forces with the national firm.

The move sees the W M Carpenter Real Estate business, which has had its foot in the region for a century, rebrand as Knight Frank Southern Highlands.

It’s to be led by Knight Frank partner, head of valuation and advisory Alistair Carpenter, whose family ran the business for the previous 100 years.

Mr Carpenter believes “the heritage and established track record of the office provides a solid platform to move forward and expand in what is an exciting and rapidly changing real estate market”.

Based in Bowral, Knight Frank Southern Highlands will be a team of seven encompassing commercial, residential and rural real estate.

Knight Frank’s head of residential, Erin van Tuil, will manage the office’s residential components, with Knight Frank’s residential agent Nathan Berlyn also set to work from the office.

With Knight Frank having operated within the region for over a year, Ms van Tuil explained the network has “launched and solidified multiple development sites and luxury projects, including apartments and townhouses, over the past year”.

“Knight Frank are passionate about the Southern Highlands, with Bowral having experienced substantial growth in popularity particularly since COVID, as remote working made it possible to live full time in a lifestyle area within commutable distance to Sydney,” she added.

Additionally, local agent Kate Johnson joins the team to provide a much-needed commercial, industrial and retail management and agency perspective. Knight Frank Southern Highlands valuations team will include Alistair Carpenter, Alison Flood, Tracey Barrow-Cliff and Paul Williams.

“We are excited to take the office into the next phase of growth, with Knight Frank’s global reach able to provide exciting opportunities moving forward,” Mr Carpenter concluded.
