The network’s foundation has shared it will be continuing its commitment to homelessness charity Dignity.

The latest tranche of support, a contribution of $100,000 over 12 months, will go towards Dignity’s 1 Million Meals food relief expansion project.

Raine & Horne Foundation first joined forces with Dignity in 2021, during the challenge of COVID-19, with the aim of addressing “the critical homelessness crisis arising from pandemic-induced lockdowns across many parts of Australia”.

Raine & Horne executive chairman Angus Raine explained: “Partnering with Dignity has always been a natural collaboration for us – we made a commitment 140 years ago to give back to the communities in which we serve, and the initiatives alongside Dignity allows us to do just that.”

As part of the renewed partnership, Raine & Horne Foundation is an exclusive platinum sponsorship partner for 2024 and will be an increase in the support previously offered to Dignity.

The 1 Million Meals project looks to provide a million meals to individuals across the country who are at risk of homelessness, and works in conjunction with the likes of Youfoodz and a network of volunteers.

Dignity also strategically places food relief freezers in community centres, connecting recipients with available services to prevent homelessness, and also provides other essential services for those in need, such as temporary accommodation and stable housing for up to 180 individuals each night.

Since its inception, the organisation reports that it has supported more than 65,000 people.

Just last year, Dignity unveiled the naming of one of its guesthouses the Raine & Horne Foundation House, a guesthouse that contains 11 furnished, self-contained units to support those experiencing homelessness across south-west Sydney.

For Dignity CEO and founder Suzanne Hopman, the continuity of the support “significantly bolsters” the charity’s ability to service vulnerable people.

“We simply could not support and empower the number of people we do without the support of our corporate partner, Raine & Horne Foundation,” she said, expressing her gratitude for the support.

“This partnership has helped Dignity support more people through our food relief program, supported temporary accommodation and longer-term housing programs.”

She added that the network has also “made a tangible impact with corporate volunteering and fundraising activities around Australia”.

“The need right now is greater than ever, and I am very grateful to the Raine & Horne Foundation for their collaboration and contribution to Dignity’s ‘1 Million Meals’ project in 2024.

“The impact of this support will be felt in the homes of individuals and families at risk of homelessness around Australia,” she concluded.
