The network has welcomed experienced agent Kai Liu into the fold of its New Farm agency.

The real estate group noted Mr Liu has been in the industry since 2014, and brings with him his expertise in marketing Brisbane central business district (CBD) apartments.

He successfully reached an achievement of listing 100 properties in 2023.

He’s come along way since his first listing, which he secured almost a decade ago through an advertisement in a local Chinese newspaper.

Mr Liu attributes a lot of his successes to being bilingual and having an efficient team process.

“Being able to speak a different language has significant benefits, particularly when it comes to Chinese vendors who want to be able to communicate in Mandarin regarding the sales processes.

“But it’s also beneficial working with English-speaking vendors because a lot of Chinese buyers are interested in apartments in Brisbane’s CBD,” Mr Liu said.

Mr Liu first came to Australia in 2007 from China and studied Master of Business majoring in Professional Accounting.

“Initially, real estate wasn’t part of the vision; however, I was poached to be an agent and I needed a job at the time.

“Now, I couldn’t picture myself doing anything else,” he said.

Joining the agent at the real estate agency is his executive assistant, Kelsey Tarrant.

They shared that they wanted to join Place because they had admired the company’s marketing, offices and overall “good energy”.

“It has always been an aspirational family brand with high-performing established teams,” Mr Liu commented, noting the seamlessness of their transition.

Ms Tarrant has been in the industry for six years, with Mr Liu commending her for being someone “who can adapt and take on multiple roles within the business, enabling me to focus on client relationships.

“We work well together,” he continued.

Miss Tarrant expressed excitement at the opportunity to grow her career and lean on the agency’s support services. She’s excited to grow her career within Place and have the support of the company’s backend services in assisting Mr Liu.

Weighing in on the new recruits, Place New Farm managing director Sarah Hackett said: “We’re excited to have Kai and Kelsey as part of the Place family and look forward to seeing him continue to thrive and grow under our brand.”

The latest news from Place follows the group’s alignment with a Brisbane west independent agency, in a move last year that signified a full circle moment for the independent co-owners.
