A boutique Sydney agency has reached a new milestone in their gender equality journey with the promotion of two leading female managers.
BresicWhitney’s promotion of experienced agents Bianca Todarello and Evie Hancox to the positions of general manager and operations manager respectively has been hailed as a landmark move in the firm’s journey to full gender equality.
While female participation in the real estate sector as a whole has been levelling in recent years, there remains a gender gap for women in leadership positions.
For BresicWhitney, the glass ceiling is a barrier they are determined to smash.
CEO Thomas McGlynn noted that the recent promotions of Ms Todarello and Ms Hancox “reflect what we believe are meaningful examples of the potential career pathways for aspiring leaders, and the success that arises when you genuinely nurture and develop your people”.
Ms Hancox, the group’s new operations manager, reflected on the opportunities that have arisen across the span of her real estate journey.
She initially began her real estate journey in the UK, before moving to Australia and taking on operational roles at The Agency.
“Moving from the UK and having worked in real estate for over eight years has allowed me to really understand BresicWhitney’s value proposition,” Ms Hancox said.
She noted that “as a relatively young leader, it’s fulfilling to reflect on my own journey and be able to guide those looking to go down a similar path,” stating that “this type of support is incredibly important for those at the early stages of their career”.
Ms Todarello, BresicWhitney’s new general manager of sales, is a company veteran with over a decade of experience at the firm.
In recent years, Ms Todarello has reportedly “played a pivotal role in guiding sales agents and their teams to develop and execute competitive market strategies”, a role that has enabled her to contribute significantly to BresicWhitney’s broader growth.
Now, as general manager of sales, Ms Todarello shared that she is “humbled by the opportunity to help BresicWhitney deliver a new level of sales leadership for our people”.
She stated: “I’m thankful for the opportunity to provide guidance and support to our people, as I know firsthand the role it played in helping me forge my own career path.”
Looking forward, BresicWhitney continues to propel itself towards new heights, the most recent example being their plans for an architect-designed office in Mosman.
Speaking on the company’s future plans, Mr McGlynn noted that the company is “proud” of the “significant transformation and growth of our business in the last two years”.
He reiterated the importance of “the structure and strategies we have in place to continue achieving our vision of being Sydney’s leading property group”.
