A major national network’s latest acquisition has given them a foothold on a vibrant tourist market just a stone’s throw from Albany.

Raine & Horne Great Southern has opened their first office in Denmark, Western Australia, following the acquisition of a successful independent business.

Heading the charge are John and Julie Hetherington, joint owners of Raine & Horne Great Southern and principals of the brand’s newly acquired Denmark office.

Jane Hockley, a sales agent with 25 years of experience, and Brett Lukey, who brings with him an impressive four decades of Denmark real estate experience, are also joining the team.

“We saw a tremendous opportunity in Denmark, not only because of the market dynamics but also the chance to be deeply embedded in the community,” Julie Hetherington explained.

“We are excited to welcome Jane and Brett to our team,” she stated. “Their local knowledge, extensive experience and commitment to excellence perfectly align with Raine & Horne’s values.”

The co-principals believe that the Denmark market has a strong future ahead, as Perth residents sell up and move south for a tree change.

“There are lovely wineries and restaurants, and people are selling up in Perth and shifting here for a lifestyle change,” Julie Hetherington continued.

“We’re seeing many people moving here from Perth because Denmark has a vibe reminiscent of the Margaret River.”

Since opening the Denmark office in February, the team has facilitated a number of property sales, including a four-bedroom contemporary home that sold for $1.1 million.

“In particular, Brett is on fire right now. He is listing and selling like it’s going out of fashion,” said Julie Hetherington.

Looking forward, Julie Hetherington has high hopes for Raine & Horne Great Southern Denmark, and believes the new office has the potential to become a central hub for the local community.

She emphasised the importance of forming genuine relationships and investing in local talent, sharing “the key is that you’ve got to have someone from the community like Jane and Brett who knows what’s happening”.

“We’re not just opening an office – we’re establishing a home in Denmark,” she said. “Our team is ready to contribute to the vibrant local real estate landscape and build lasting relationships with the community.”

The Denmark acquisition comes just four months after John and Julie Hetherington came on as principals of the Raine & Horne Great Southern brand, citing a strong friendship between themselves and the Raine & Horne Rural Western Australia team as an impetus for the move.
