Two independent agencies have joined the Laing+Simmons network as the brand sets its sights on growth.

Laing+Simmons Lakemba and Laing+Simmons Five Dock | Drummoyne are the two newest additions for the NSW-based brand.

Previously servicing their communities as independent businesses, the two new agencies were attracted by the growth opportunities on offer with a larger franchise.

“The best local real estate businesses don’t need to fit into a mould,” said Laing+Simmons head of people and growth, Jacqui Barnes.

“We work side-by-side with our network partners, respecting the fact that they know their markets, and collaborate to implement bespoke support situations for them to succeed.”

Barnes attributed the brand’s “flexibility” to its growth in recent times, stating that the network is committed to “trusting that leading agents know their local markets, and providing training, mentoring and support which is tailored to their businesses and individual team members”.

Syed Hasan, principal of Laing+Simmons Lakemba, joined the network after previously captaining independent agency Estate Stone.

Speaking on his decision to join the network, Hasan shared that he had spoken with a number of large brands before choosing to come on board Laing+Simmons.

“It was very apparent from the first meeting that, from the front desk to the back end, the support system is there,” Hasan said.

“The company’s training and recruitment is something we will leverage in the short term as we look to add experienced local sales people to the team and build a dominant market share.

“Combined with the family-type atmosphere created by the company’s culture, it’s clear that Laing+Simmons is the right network to be a part of as we embark on our next phase of growth,” the principal said.

Over in Five Dock, the Rupolo family recently moved to Laing+Simmons after spending over a decade running their own agency, Locale Property Agents.

With over three decades of real estate experience under his belt, director Joseph Rupolo stated he was searching for a brand that would “complement, not complicate” the family’s aspirations for growth.

“We’ve been part of the local community for many years and in this time, the market has changed, buyer and vendor behaviours have adapted, tech has evolved, but the relationships we’ve always prioritised remain as important as ever to our success,” said Rupolo.

“In meeting with the team at Laing+Simmons, we could tell relationships were at the heart of their approach as well. There was a strong alignment of values,” Rupolo concluded.
