Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate is expanding its coverage of Brisbane’s southern suburbs with a new Tarragindi location.
The outpost will be headed by principal Tracy Kennedy and will service the area around Tarragindi, including Salisbury, Moorooka, Annerley, and Holland Park.
Having joined the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate (BHGRE) network six months ago under their Aspire mobile model, Kennedy purchased a rent roll from a shuttered local agency to aid in establishing her new office, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Connect. She also now occupies that agency’s old space.
Having bought her first home in Tarragindi 30 years ago from the agency whose premises she took over, Kennedy brings with her both acute insight and a great deal of passion for the area that she describes as a “hidden gem” among established inner-city suburbs.
Kennedy particularly highlighted changes to the area that have taken place over the last 15 years which have increased its appeal. That includes the splitting of blocks to enable new residential development, which has increased the average sale price in the area.
Though still undergoing a transformation, residents and property owners seem prepared to stay put. A tightly-held area, Kennedy emphasised the “very family focused” demographic of the suburb, stating that “once people buy here, they don’t want to leave”.
With her new office, Kennedy stated her desire to continue offering consistently high-quality service to her clients, “You never know where your next listing or management will come from.”
“One of the basics that many people in our industry miss the mark on is returning phone calls. It is a basic courtesy. It is amazing how many people comment that I actually returned their call,” Kennedy said.
Commenting on the appointment, James Bell, chief executive officer of BHGRE, said, “Our goal is to see our agents and offices succeed and grow with us. The opening of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Connect is a reflection of this.”
Looking towards the future, Kennedy emphasised her excitement at generating community engagement and fostering further growth, sharing her belief that her agency would outgrow their current space at some stage.
“I never thought I would own my own agency but it was too good an opportunity to miss. BHGRE have been outstanding with their support of me and I am so thankful that all of the circumstances aligned and led me here,” Kennedy said.
This new opening continues on BHGRE’s recent growth, having doubled the company footprint over the course of 2023.
