The lifestyle-oriented network has appointed an experienced auctioneer and business founder as head of state for Queensland.
David Holmes, a southeast Queensland-based director and auctioneer, has been named Belle Property’s top executive for the Sunshine State, in a new external appointment.
Holmes will also act as state head for Hockingstuart, a partner real estate brand of Belle Property since 2019.
Previously founder and director of Holmes Auctions, the new state leader brings experience across a substantial swathe of the east coast, including southeast Queensland, northern NSW, and the ACT.
Prior to starting up his own business, Holmes previously served as Queensland state manager for Homely, national auction manager for LJ Hooker, and director for Metro Auctions, where he made TV appearances as an auctioneer on The Block.
“I feel fortunate to be part of the Belle Property and Hockingstuart team and be given the opportunity to write the next chapter for the brands in Queensland and further help cement the brands as the preferred choice for prospective home buyers and sellers,” said Holmes.
For Belle Property, the appointment marks the start of a new era in Queensland property.
Network CEO Peter Hanscomb stated: “We believe that David’s strong leadership skills are well-aligned to support the network for the next stage of significant growth across the Queensland market.”
The company cited Holmes’ experience as a “respected industry coach” as a major asset for the team moving forward, noting that he has previously “worked with prominent figures to enhance their skill sets and business acumen.”
His decades of experience in the Queensland property market will be a major boon to Belle Property given the brand’s significant leaps forward in the Sunshine State property arena.
In the past six months, the network launched five offices in southeast Queensland: two in north Brisbane, one on the Gold Coast, one on the Sunshine Coast, and one on Bribie Island.
As the brand continues to focus on its Queensland operations, head of network growth Nick Boyd noted that Holmes will bring “great insight into the real estate space and has strong connections across the Queensland market”.
“He operates with clear conviction and empathy, qualities we believe will resonate with the best in our business,” Boyd said.
“David is a great asset for the network, and we are confident that under his guidance, our people and offices will thrive and prosper.”
