REB is pleased to reveal this year’s top 100 agents in Australia with support from partner and proptech Managed.

Now in its 13th year, the Top 100 Agents 2024 ranking and report have recognised agents across the nation who have achieved strong sales numbers, carved a local presence in their area, and gone above and beyond for their clients.

As economic headwinds and tighter monetary policy continue to impact the property market, the top-ranked agents have remained resilient and committed to serving in the best interests of their vendors and buyers.

To combat the challenges resulting from higher interest rates, growing mortgage stress and increased housing affordability issues, agents increased buyer work by harnessing their databases, while communicating frequently with vendors and selling their property for the best possible price.

Nevertheless, the impact of these economic headwinds is evident in the data, with the top 100 agents selling 11,061 properties for $22.4 billion in 2023, down slightly from 11,642 properties sold for $23.6 billion the previous year.

The top 10 agents sold 1,508 properties for $5.04 billion, down from 1,680 properties sold for $5.07 billion in 2022.

On average, the top 100 agents sold 111 properties last year, down from 116 in 2022, and the top 10 agents sold 151 properties (lower than 168 the prior year).

Lower housing stock impacted listings, with the top 100 agents securing an average of 129 property listings in 2023, down from 136 the previous year. However, the top 10 agents secured more properties year on year, up from 205 in 2022 to 209 in 2023, according to this year’s ranking.

Despite the changing dynamics in the property market, days on market declined from 34 to 25 across the top 10 and remained stable at 33 across the top 100 agents.

The average sale price increased by 11 per cent year on year to $3,313,606 across the top 10 agents, and by 5 per cent to $2,283,292 across the top 100 agents, reflecting the overall growth in property prices.

Eight of the top 10 agents are from NSW, while one is from Queensland and another is from Victoria.

According to Managed chief operating officer, Rohith George, making the Top 100 Agents ranking is an outstanding achievement, regardless of market conditions.

“Interest rates, buyer and seller sentiment and the amount of available stock will always affect real estate sales but top agents consistently outperform their peers,” he said.

“This is down to a results-oriented attitude, outstanding market knowledge and the ability to generate competitive buyer tension in any market.”

George concluded: “The Top 100 Agents is a true mark of excellence, and those that make the cut have demonstrated that they can always achieve the best possible results for their vendors.”

The Top 100 Agents 2024 ranking was determined based on a number of metrics, including the number and dollar value of properties sold, and the average sale value across the 2023 calendar year.

Each agent was ranked comparatively across these three metrics against their peers, with the combined comparative score used to determine the top-ranked agents.

This year’s ranking set the benchmark for success that other agents could aspire to emulate.

REB editor Grace Ormsby said agents named in this year’s ranking have proven their business acumen, showcasing a stellar year despite more challenging market conditions.

“Each year, we are blown away by the talent, discipline and skills on show by Australia’s top agents.”

“Each of REB’s Top 100 Agents is raising the bar for the real estate profession, providing a measurable output for agents the country over to look to emulate.”

“Congratulations to every single agent named in this year’s list – your efforts deserve to be rewarded.”
