Taking up the role is a familiar face for the organisation who has worn many hats in her involvement with the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV).

Megan Mander will now serve as the institute’s general manager of operations, having held a position on its board since 2021 and most recently serving as its CEO on an interim basis.

Her board role saw her serve the organisation as senior vice president until January 2024, when then-CEO Quentin Kilian stepped away from the leadership after two years at the top.

During a fourth month search for a replacement, Mander steered the institute across its industry functions, using her broad background in real estate to guide it until a permanent CEO could be found.

In May, it was announced that former Netball CEO Kelly Ryan had been named new chief exec, with Mander returning to her board position, which she has now formally resigned.

In stepping into this position, Mander will reportedly be overseeing several major projects underway across the institute while taking on responsibility for the REIV’s human resources function.

With a 26-year career in real estate, Mander has worked as a commercial agent and held senior leadership positions in agencies such as Savills Australia, Gorman Commercial and Little Real Estate. She also founded her own agency, Urbane Commercial.

Jacob Caine, president of the REIV, said that the board felt Mander would be an invaluable asset to the institute in this role.

“As interim CEO and as a director, Megan has already made a significant contribution to the governance and leadership of the REIV during a critical period. With several major projects gaining momentum and new leadership changes in effect, Megan’s management expertise and strong real estate industry knowledge will continue to be crucial to our success,” Caine commented.
