Aspiring property professionals in Adelaide will receive top-tier training, thanks to a joint venture between the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) and the Real Estate Institute of South Australia (REISA).

The first revamped training program will begin in August with a face-to-face Property Manager Registration Program in the South Australian capital.

Training opportunities for sales representatives and land agents will soon follow.

The training materials have been prepared by the REIQ, with the help of South Australian real estate practitioners who have provided localised context and examples – including the state’s recent rental reforms.

“Importantly, the programs will be proudly trained and assessed by qualified South Australian real estate practitioners who know our marketplace inside out,” said REISA CEO Andrea Heading.

The two peak bodies believe the partnership will help them give South Australian real estate students the best educational experience possible.

REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella stated: “Over a quarter of a century teaching more than 65,000 graduates, the REIQ has cemented its reputation as a highly regarded training organisation known for producing job-ready professionals in the Sunshine State.”

“Now we’re excited to be taking our training prowess and adapting it for a new market,” she said. “Students can expect the same best-in-class learning experiences and award-winning training but tailored specifically for South Australian practice.”

According to the REIQ CEO, students who participate in the program will receive more than just a quality education; they will also gain an ongoing source of support.

“When students train with the peak professional body in real estate, they are gaining a ‘professional guardian’ that has a vested interest in their ongoing success.”

“It’s not just about getting a student to graduation; a real estate institute strives to support a professional throughout their career because their success is our success,” said Mercorella.

And with not one but two real estate peak bodies collaborating on the course, Heading believes that students “will get the best of both worlds”.

“They’ll benefit from REISA’s localised real estate knowledge built over our 105-year-old history, as well as the REIQ’s proven track record of providing outstanding training,” said Heading.
