The brand’s Mosman office blends modern and heritage design features.

Construction has been completed for a new BresicWhitney office based in Sydney’s lower north shore, which aims to “inspire high-performance and collaboration”.

Ben Mitchell, the Mosman-based director of local firm Those Architects, deployed a unique design vision when working on this complex heritage project.

“We sat down and had a discussion about what architecture means to the BresicWhitney brand. They recognise that the quality of the space reflects the quality of the thinking that comes out of that space,” said Mitchell.

“We have enjoyed working collaboratively with the BresicWhitney team to create a space that is welcoming for their people and customers, who have a high appreciation of design, while also ensuring that it meets all the functional requirements of running a busy office,” the director said.

Originally a memorial hall for returning World War I soldiers, historic features like the 1920s staircase and sash windows sit alongside stainless steel walls and a bold blue ceiling.

Glimpses of the blue ceiling are “visible from the street during both daytime and night-time – an intentional consideration by BresicWhitney and Those”.

According to BresicWhitney CEO Thomas McGlynn, honouring the history of the building was a key aim of the fit-out.

“We’ve put a great deal of care and thought into creating a space that would respect the building’s history and share the values of the local community. It’s a privilege to have been part of the team who created what is a very special space,” said McGlynn.

Known for their unique office fit-outs, BresicWhitney has long held to the belief that innovative work environments can foster productivity.

“We have a 20-year history of investing in environments for our people that nurture high-performance, collaboration and creativity,” said McGlynn.

“This space delivers that for our growing Lower North Shore team, reflecting not only our absolute commitment to our culture, but our long-term intentions in the area.”
