Two Penrith real estate agencies have joined together in a new merger.

LJ Hooker Penrith, owned by Peter and Kerrie Stanford, has merged with Professionals Penrith.

It’s a notable milestone for LJ Hooker Penrith, which first fell under the Stanfords’ leadership 30 years ago.

Over the past five months, LJ Hooker Penrith has gradually acquired the rent roll of Professionals Penrith. Ross Heidtmann, principal of Professionals Penrith, will come on board the LJ Hooker office, along with three property managers.

“We have been very focused on this deal and doing our due diligence, and ensuring all systems were in place to facilitate this major undertaking,” said principal Peter Stanford.

He emphasised that property management was a foundational element of the merger.

“Too many real estate agencies just focus on sales, but property management has always been an important part of our business, and it needs to be treated with respect.”

“It is a demanding and sometimes thankless job dealing with difficult situations and emotionally charged issues,” he said.

Stanford extended particular thanks to the agency’s senior property manager, Melissa Jerzyna, who has been regularly recognised as one of the network’s top-performing property managers.

“We are very fortunate to have Melissa looking after the team of property managers and delivering outstanding customer service in what can be a very difficult sector,” said Stanford.

“We aim to go above and beyond, and we do this by providing 24-hour contact for landlords and tenants. We are fortunate to have such wonderful team members who, in terms of performance and systems, are second to none.”

Chris Keating, LJ Hooker’s head of network for Australia, congratulated the co-owners on the new milestone.

“LJ Hooker Penrith is instrumental in making sure our footprint in Sydney’s greater western region is not only sustained but, more importantly, is growing,” said Keating.

“Acquisitions, such as this one, mean we will continue to have a presence in the area now and beyond.”
